Common Good, Common Wealth, Common Values

A policy paper presented at the 2007 Fredericton Convention of the National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE). It details how people hold the belief that pursuit of the common good enables us to achieve a good greater than any we can ever achieve alone. This progressive approach contrasts visibly with the conservative philosphical approach which believes people are individuals first, and only reluctantly are they members of the broader Canaidan family. This paper outlines the benefits of working together for the common good, for the well-being of all people in ways that are based on our common values.
